Mariano Werneck is a multi disciplined designer from Brazil with an MA in graphic design at LeQuai, France. Currently based in Rio de Janeiro, Mariano has been working as an independent graphic designer with companies in different countries developing contemporary design projects across various sectors and medias from large-scale to smaller collaborations.
As a tool, design must communicate and bring attention to what matters in the most suitable way. It doesn't necessarily have to be groundbreaking stuff. The “community” got so caught up on getting recognized and being hip that we’ve lost a sense of what’s appropriate for the client. We forget the audience and focus on following trends and fads. It is my opinion that design is a way of thinking that can be applied to any media and figuring out new ways to send messages to reach people is a great pleasure for me.
